The name’s Cecilia. INFJ. Art enthusiast, aspiring globetrotter, loyal to a fault. I like rainy days and milk tea, a good book, Vincent Van Gogh, brunch, laughing at lame jokes, succulents, and oversized mugs and sweaters. I dislike artificial watermelon flavor. I think imagination is the most important quality in a person. Favorite word is “retrospect”. Pleased to meet you!
Today I was scrolling through my dash and there were some pictures of volcanoes erupting and lightning. “That’s weird,” I thought, “what a coincidence that a volcano should be erupting at the same time there’s a lightning storm. It even looks like the volcanic ash is a lightning cloud or something..hmm..” Then I looked it up, and, apparently, volcanic lightning is a thing.
Yup! It’s pretty incredible; you get charge separation in the cloud of volcanic ash, and when the difference is great enough, electrons will flow between the oppositely charged parts of the sky, and you get lightning. (x)
